The iconic composition that capitulated future art director and designer Antonio Citterio into a legendary collaboration with Italian brand Arclinea, the Italia kitchen composition introduces professional characteristics and aesthetics into the everyday home.
Since 1988, Italia’s distinctive handle, use of steel, large worktop, double sinks, and island layout have served as a cornerstone for functional and technical design.
Italia’s two islands feature Lignum et Lapis doors in NTF black ash and vintage stainless-steel panels complimenting the walls of grand tall units. In the center is floor-to-ceiling wood panels with Vina wine unit adjacent. A built-in frame system door carries the luxury materials through to the dining area. There, a Madia unit with a coplanar glass door and fossil oak interior contributes to the architectural feel of the space.
Patented by Arclinea, the Italia recessed handle is produced in-house through an exclusive procedure. A vital quality of the Arclinea Collection, the recessed handle is detailed and reveals a unique quality of the Arclinea Collection. Arclinea also debuted a video located at the Caldogno factory, where viewers are given an insight into the manual production process of the handles.
The double island also includes a built-in preparation area, chopping board, double sink, and a stunning Pietra Gray marble worktop. The kitchen layout presents the vitality of maximum operational functionality, base units and tall units feature internal drawers from the Moka Box System. These are finished in a sophisticated black ash with Artusi handles.
In the dining area, light wood and black wood has been used to create a balance of contemporary materials, Lignum doors of the Frame System emphasize the allure of wood with vertical staves in a range of lengths and widths. Built in lighting and coplanar motorized opening system allow for easy accessibility.
Over time, Arclinea and Antonio Citterio alike have remained loyal to the evolution of design, developing technical practices and material transitions such as steel to stone, and quartz to granites. With better performing equipment, top-of-the-line finishes, and attention to details, Arclinea solidifies itself as a renowned pioneer of modern design.
