Designed by Eileen Gray in 1926, the Bibendum Armchair combines sculptural presence with a playful spirit. Taking its name from the Michelin Man, its distinctive form features two generously padded rolls that curve around the sitter to create an embracing backrest and armrests. A broad, rounded seat completes the silhouette, expressing Gray’s inviting approach to modern design.
Upholstered in rich Bordeaux red velvet, this version brings depth and softness to the chair’s generous curves. The velvet’s subtle sheen catches the light, while a matte black metal base provides a slender foundation beneath the upholstered form. Equally suited to a living room, bedroom or reading corner, Bibendum offers a welcoming seat with unmistakable character.
