Dodo Arslan is an eclectic Italian designer, of Armenian origin, esteemed by Taschen as one of the 90 top designers and firms worldwide.
Dodo Arslan is specialized in the design of furniture as well as lighting, furnishing accessories and industrial products in collaboration with the most influential brands.
His Studio assists acclaimed architects and interior designers in the conception and realization of custom-made furniture (both residential and contract), light installations and art design.
Over the course of his twenty years of experience, Arslan has created unique pieces as well as serial productions, ranging from electronic devices to cast bronze works.
Among the many collaborations, Arslan has engaged in projects for the Banca Svizzera Italiana, Bimota, Campari, CITCO, Emera, Fonderia Artistica Battaglia, Fonderia Artistica DeAndreis, Hands on Design, Italy-America Chamber of Commerce, Jacuzzi, Mandelli1953, Pirelli, Riva1920, Terzani, ToBeUS, UNIQ-Ǝ!, UPGroup and Venini.
The Triennale, an international institution which organizes exhibitions and conferences about arts, design, architecture, and other cultural identities, dedicated " Le Attrazioni della Materia" exhibition to Arslan and even includes his Otto armchair in the Permanent Collection of Italian Design.
His creations were exhibited in Milan at the Welltech Award in the National Museum of Science and Technology, at the Inside Art event at the Arnaldo Pomodoro Foundation and in various museums and events throughout Berlin, Beijing, Bilbao, Cape Town, Gwangju, Istanbul, London, Madrid, Milan, Mumbai, San Francisco, Santiago de Chile, New York and Shanghai. Moreover, two of his pieces are displayed in the permanent collection of the Campari Design Gallery.
In addition to serial products, he also created several limited edition and individual pieces which are sold by the prestigious Belgium auction house Pierre Bergé & Associés located in Brussels. Nove, a bronze table made with the ancient technique of lost-wax casting or cire perdue was commissioned by the Artistic Foundry Battaglia in Milan, a historic bronze workshop of skilled Italian artisan casters.
Arslan was appointed to design and sculpt the BSI Centenary Foundation Award trophy by the Italian Swiss Bank of Lugano and has cast ten models that are awarded over the years.
He has conducted courses, workshops and lectures in design faculties in Italy, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Croatia, Egypt, USA and Sweden.
Prior to founding the Dodo Arslan Studio, he gained experience at Studio & Partners (N. Bewick, M. De Lucchi, T. Fritze, E. Torri) for Deutsche Post, British American Tobacco and Zumtobel Staff achieving the Design Plus award and in the Continuumstudio (Milan-Boston-Seoul) for Motorola, Hewlett Packard, Elan, Voelkl and Samsung, winning the Good Design Award and the KIDA Grand Prize.
