His creations take inspiration from emotions generated by a painting, a body, or a place, working with both local and international furniture companies. Zappa studied and gained an in-depth practical knowledge of architecture through an internship of authoritative studies at Milano architects. In 1998, he met the eclectic artist and designer Marco Preti, inspiring Zappa to begin a long course of artistic growth, promised it would bring him 'to an important maturity', both stylistically and creatively. 

He created art projects in Italy and abroad of detached villas, apartments, shops, paying particular attention to the theatricality ‘and fluidity’ of space. His works have been published in many furniture and design magazines, and have been exhibited at 100% Design in London.
