Deep within the courtyards and historic buildings, Maxalto’s stand at the Salone amassed six separate rooms forming a gallery of the brand’s most iconic products. Art Director Antonio Citterio enhanced the dialogue between art and object with illuminating walls constructed of rice paper.
A loyal brand just coming off their January preview at Maison et Objet in Paris, Maxalto presented timeless elegance that reflected hospitality, sobriety, and substance through a kaleidoscope of easing neutrals and soft tones. Repeating patterns and interwoven textiles embellish Maxalto’s settings.

“We thought of the Maxalto space as a gallery. A series of distinct environments, made extraordinary by high luminous walls in rice paper, in which the most iconic products of the collection dialogue with precious objects and works of art.”
Room 1 draws the crowds in with a cool soothing air, a delicate display of floating bronzed leaves is suspended lightly above the pristine setting. The thickly textured Febo sofa in a comforting stripe upholstery flawlessly complements small circular Recipio ’14 tables in a dark wood. Riso, a handmade wool carpet, provides a natural hue base for clever shelving designed mainly for the living area.
In Room 2, the Arbiter modular seating system is a showstopper upholstered in a cloudy white fabric. Its extra-large seating area and oversized cushions are a plush dream. Stylistic essentiality and soft roundness are continued with the Elios multipurpose small tables and Lithos ottomans. Mida storage units showcase a high level of craftmanship within the brand, a skill also seen in the adjacent light wood Intoto console table.
Room 3 is dining-focussed, the Astrum Table features the special “sawhorse” base-frame. A three-elemental crosspiece gives the structure both lightness and solidity. Leather Caratos dining chairs are as contemporary as they are classic, shadowed by refined Teaseaurus storage cabinets. In this room, rounded edges promote leisurely luxury living.
Room 4 also favors smooth curves and thick forms with the grand Apollo sofa and distinguished Febo armchair. The Amoenus soft ottoman is a vast island in the center of the room, contrasting with tall structural Eracle Bookcases. Loto side tables also decorate this space, assisting in providing plenty of surface storage.
In Room 5, we see a second dining layout, primarily presenting light wood finishes and beige materials. An Ares table with crossed legs is framed by Febo dining chairs in tan leather. The Stella bench in a natural cellulose rope provides a unique approach to seating, reminiscent of oriental patterns.
The Final room, number 6, is a bedroom configuration. The Alcova bed and its towering frame creates a modern storybook aesthetic. Placed at the end of the bed, a Caratos Bench in rich brown leather. The wooden Sidus Writing Desk is equipped with practical drawers and a cable management system. Daily living in the bedroom is further fostered by a supple dark grey Caratos armchair and Intervallum ottoman.
