Michael Schneider was born in southern Germany in 1962. He graduated from his Product Design studies from the Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart, under Professor Richard Sapper. In 1993, he opened his own design-studio: designschneider, where he still works to this day. He focuses on product design, furniture, exhibitions and research trends. He cooperates with many foreign companies, for whom he proposes products oriented on uniqueness, functionality and utility in everyday life. Michael Schnieder has also lectured at universities in Korea, India, RWTH (The Rhine-Westphalian Technical University) in Aachen, and the University of the Arts in Berlin. He is the recipient of many international awards.

In 2009 designschneider moved to Berlin, where Jan-Patric Metzger joined the studio. designschneider is dedicated to product, furniture and exhibition design as well as trend research. The design studio has an international client base and is committed to designing new products which are unique, beautiful and functional.
