Milan Design Week 2025 is in full swing, once again establishing itself as a global epicentre of creativity, innovation, and forward thinking design.
This year's edition draws particular attention to Salone del Mobile and Euroluce, where Matisse representatives are touring the two cornerstone events that continue to push the boundaries of what design can be. Designers, architects, and enthusiasts from around the world have gathered to explore how aesthetics, technology, and sustainability intersect to shape the future of living and working spaces.
Midweek highlights have already revealed an impressive array of installations from our suppliers, showcasing both the conceptual and technical evolution of lighting design. Below are a few standout contributions, with more to come as the week unfolds.
DELTALIGHT | Components of Space
Delta Light’s installation, Components of Space, offers a contemplative take on how light interacts with materials and architecture. The installation features a geometric frame constructed from industrial ventilation pipes, creating a sculptural presence that shifts and responds to its environment. Subtle elements like smoke and shadow come into play, softening the rigid framework and challenging perceptions of space. The piece encourages visitors to consider how sound, form, and illumination influence the way we experience our surroundings.
Maxalto | 50 Years of Craftsmanship
To mark its fiftieth anniversary, Maxalto has partnered with Dutch artist Patrick van Riemsdijk in a unique fusion of design and visual art.
In honour of this milestone, the brand is releasing a limited edition of fifty Lilum daybeds, each adorned with van Riemsdijk’s signature calligraphic style. These exclusive pieces will be upholstered in custom-designed fabric that captures the artist’s distinctive aesthetic. Each daybed is individually numbered and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity, blending heritage, craftsmanship, and contemporary artistry.
Penta | Auralis Space Milano
Penta takes centre stage at Auralis Space Milano—the first lighting hub of its kind—designed to foster collaboration and creative exchange between professionals and clients. This immersive space offers limitless design possibilities, tailored for projects of every scale. Visitors are invited to explore, experiment, and be inspired, supported by Auralis consultants who help bring imaginative concepts to life. The setting encourages a playful yet intentional approach to lighting, redefining the way we think about light as both a functional and expressive tool.
