This years Milan Design Fair featured an excess of vibrant colors, contemporary use of shapes, and quirky designs. As a bold statement piece or simply a love for flair, brands like B&B Italia, Cassina, and Nemo, present ways to bring color and uniqueness into spaces. We’ve curated a list of some of our new favorite show stopping items.
B&B Italia’s remastered collection of Le Bambole sofas and armchairs, features every color of the rainbow. The new fabric range, Sila, includes lively hues of purple, blue, green, orange and burgundy. The Le Bambole’s original design from 1972 was constructed with a metal structure in polyurethane, now updated to be easily recyclable. What made the Le Bambole special, apart from its inviting plush nature and timeless form, is the undeniably fun comfort it exudes. Whether it is upholstered in a simple white or vivid purple, Le Bambole is both a contemporary, and a classic.
The Bamboletto bed presented just as stunningly, has a uniquely formed headboard with flexible interior, soft edges and range of brilliant upholstery options encourage a spirited tone.
The Tobi-Ishi coffee table from B&B Italia has reached its ten-year milestone, emerging again onto the design scene as a transformed piece, adorned in strips of white Carrara and green Alpi marble. This finely crafted classic is a modest form, popular in contemporary bright spaces, now a beautiful conversational feature.
Cassina’s recent releases are brilliant and full of character, including the Sengu bold sofa, Sestiere vases, Lebeau outdoor table, Esosoft sofa, and Esosoft coffee table.
The Sengu Bold Sofa is cosy and plump. Upholstered in a buttery yellow fabric, the Sengu exudes warmth and divinity. The area seating is open and generous, committing to comfort and entertaining. Sengu’s cushions reach all the way to the floor, padded in recyclable PET fiber.
An array of sweet accessories can be found in the Sestiere collection by Cassina. Designed by Patricia Urquiola, this array of four vases presents a creative reinterpretation of traditional glass sculpting. Each cord, or ‘morisa’ is of a supporting shape, cradling the delicate glimmering glass within.
Not limited to inside, the Lebeau outdoor table in an aluminium frame is painted in embossed ivory, green or mud colour. Sinuous with the inspiring outdoors, a rich palette of nature, the Lebeau is reminiscent of garden cafes and warm leisure.
Cassina’s Esosoft Sofa lounges elegantly within a room, its gloss aluminum exoskeleton and elongated seat embodying a 1960s style. Available in a selection of bold fabrics, this sofa holds personality and character like no other. Timeless in its form, the Esosoft demands to be noticed without being bulky.
Nemo’s On Lines table light projects colour into a space, sculpting the aura of a room. It’s delicate flow of dimmable light shines through methacrylate square panels: red, orange, white, yellow, and blue. The light is available in two versions, a white painted base, and black painted base.
