Nicola Architecture & Design Studio, founded in 1996, began creating fashionable interiors for the most stylish clubs in Italy, including venues in Lignano, Trento, Monfalcone, Milan, and Treviso.
The studio also designed the interior of a church in Široki Brijeg, Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is now undergoing expansion.
While studying architecture at the University of Venice, they founded “Architectional,” a movement aimed at gaining a deeper understanding of Internationalism. This initiative received support from the University and Research Ministry, the Veneto Region, the Cultural Association of the Venice Provincial Council, the National Order of Architects, and the Japan Foundation. During this period, they organised summits in collaboration with “Sds” and the international journal “Casabella.” Renowned architects such as Arata Isozaki, Toyo Ito, Makio Hasuike, Shigeru Ban, Kazuyo Sejima, Tod Williams and Billie Tsien, Mansilla and Tuñón, Alfredo Payá, Peter Eisenman, and Daniele Bedini participated in these events.
In collaboration with Daniele Bedini, known as the “space architect” for his work on the International Space Station interiors for ESA, they presented the “2004 International Mars Station Thesis,” which proposed a pneumatic swelling structure capable of supporting life in extremely inhospitable environments, specifically on Mars.
Following this project, they worked with Gaetano Pesce on the “Berti Veliero” for the “Arte e Architettura” exhibition in Genoa in 2004 (curated by Germano Celant) and on an artistic exhibition for “Veronafiere” in 2005. Other notable experiences include their collaboration on the “Paper Log House” installation by Shigeru Ban at the 2000 Biennale, the organisation of the “Cittadella della Logistica” competition promoted by the Padua Interporto Society, and working with Scatola and Boris Podrecca Studio on the new trial court in Bassano del Grappa (Vicenza).
They are currently engaged in projects in Dubai, Jeddah, and Cairo, as well as design projects in Italy with internationally renowned firms that are dedicated to advanced innovation and continuous technical improvement.
