Situated at a historic Auckland location, the restaurant merges heritage influences with a modern sensibility, delivering an elegant yet inviting atmosphere that showcases New Zealand’s finest produce.

From its inception, Onslow aimed to provide more than outstanding food—it sought to cultivate an environment of comfort and subtle sophistication. Realising this ambition required not only gastronomic mastery but also a thoughtfully designed space, where each element enhances the overall feel. To achieve this, Josh and Helen Emett partnered with Matisse, outfitting Onslow with pieces that balance refinement and practicality, providing the Jens chairs and barstools by B&B Italia, and a Convivium kitchen and scullery by Arclinea.

Antonio Citterio’s Jens seamlessly unites quality craftsmanship with contemporary aesthetics, a reimagining of the classic Chinese chair. Jens’ curved frame and turned wood seat provides both visual appeal and comfort, making them a striking addition to the interior.

Also designed by Citterio, the Convivium kitchen from Arclinea transforms culinary spaces into social hubs, where preparing meals, dining, and gathering come together effortlessly. Suited to both home and professional settings, its open-plan concept features a signature worktop island, acting as both a functional surface and a communal centrepiece. Crafted from premium materials such as stainless steel, natural wood, and lacquered finishes, Convivium embodies a perfect synergy of practicality and style.
