Born in Este, Padua, in 1940, Paolo Deganello graduated in architecture from Florence in 1966.
From 1963 to 1974, he worked in town planning for the council of Calenzano (Florence). In 1966, he co-founded the Archizoom Associates studio with Andrea Branzi, Gilberto Corretti, and Massimo Morozzi, which closed in 1972. He then pursued private practice as an architect and designer in Milan, taking on commissions in Italy and abroad.
Deganello lectures at various universities and contributes theoretical work through articles in leading specialist periodicals. Since 1991, he has been a lecturer in planning at the ISIA of Florence. He participates in international exhibitions of architecture and industrial design. His design projects are highly individual and distinctly radical. His AEO armchair is particularly renowned among the products he designed for Cassina.
