Plissee Floor Lamp

Sebastian Herkner turns our usual perception of materials upside down. The lampshade, like a sensual, weightless balloon of light, balances on a metal base.
The trick: what is reminiscent of artfully pleated textile is in reality hand-blown glass. An elaborate artisan production process enables this soft, textile-like, visual effect and hence the realisation of Herkner’s vision. A dimmable LED light source creates the individually desired level of cosiness. The design of the Plissee Floor Lamp hence unites traditional craftsmanship with an industrial component.
 
Floor lamp. Frame aluminum, color-lacquered in black, bronze or brass. Hand-blown lamp shade white satin-finished opal glass with pleated surface. Push switch integrated in top of frame, variably dimmable with memory function. Black felt gliders.
