  • Ronan (born 1971) and Erwan Bouroullec (born 1976) are brothers and designers based in Paris.

Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec have been working together for about fifteen years, united by diligence yet challenged by their distinct personalities. Their studio, based in Paris, has a team of around six people.

In 1997, they were discovered by Cappellini, which led to their first industrial design projects. In 2000, they began collaborating with Galerie kreo, where they held their first solo show in 2001. Shortly after, Issey Miyake commissioned them to design a boutique for his new collection, A-Poc. Around the same time, they met Rolf Fehlbaum, President of Vitra, and worked on a new office system called Joyn. Since then, they have collaborated with numerous prestigious brands, including Artek, Alessi, Axor Hansgrohe, Cappellini, Established & Sons, Flos, Hay, Kettal, Kvadrat, Kartell, Glas Italia, Ligne Roset, Magis, Iittala, Mattiazzi, Mutina, Nani Marquina, Samsung, and Vitra.

Their work spans various disciplines, from designing small objects like jewelry to creating large-scale spatial arrangements and architectural projects. Their practice balances craftsmanship and industrial production, as well as drawings, videos, and photography. In addition to their commercial work, they continue experimental projects with Galerie kreo, which remains integral to their creative development.

The Bouroullecs' designs are part of the permanent collections of several major international museums, including the Musée National d’Art Moderne – Centre Pompidou and the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Design Museum in London, and the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen in Rotterdam. Their work has also been the subject of several monographic exhibitions, such as Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec at the Design Museum, London (2002) and the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles (2004), Album at the Vitra Design Museum (2012), and Bivouac at the Centre Pompidou-Metz (2011), later shown at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago (2012–2013). In 2013, the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris hosted Momentané, and in 2015, they presented 17 Screens at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art. In 2016, the city of Rennes showcased their latest research through four exhibitions across three venues: Frac Bretagne, Les Champs Libres, and the Parliament of Bretagne.

In 2012, Phaidon Press published a comprehensive monograph titled Works. The following year, under the art direction of Cornel Windlin, JRP Ringier released Drawing, an 864-page book featuring over 850 drawings created by the Bouroullecs between 2005 and 2012. Previous monographs include Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec (Phaidon Press, 2003) and Ronan et Erwan Bouroullec – Catalogue de Raison (Paris: Images Modernes / kreo, 2002).
