One pattern, two colours, three shapes. The geometric progression tells, as befits a theorem, a small collection of accessories with a transversal use and a unitary concept. The Paesaggi Sospesi poufs gather around them multiple functions – informal seating, a support surface for the coffee tray, footrest – catalyzing the attention on their own character as finished and defined objects. Their volume, small in size and, precisely for this reason, concrete and present, is raised off the ground thanks to the support of a light metal structure. So light - very light indeed - that it can be seen and forgotten in an instant, to leave perceptual space for what is above.
The secret of Paesaggi Sospesi lies in suspending the thought of weight and mass, canceling it perceptually thanks to the detachment, albeit minimal, from the floor. The shadow thus generated suggests that, below, the surface flows continuously and homogeneously, while above anything can happen. Light and shadow envelop the object and, on the surface, something appears on the fine texture of the fabric. A pattern of squares drawn very straight in very thin lines recalls a familiar imagination, to which our conscience has always been unconsciously and inextricably linked. Within each space - neither small nor large, perfect - the eye knows how to pigeonhole the information: letters, numbers, hatches which, extended to the next space and to the one after that, outline a drawing and tell a story.
