The curved line of the Roattino standing lamp looks as though a snake charmer had made the cable rise and the lamp head bend. An S-shaped bent steel tube guides the cable and rests on a black-lacquered base. Individual, non-conforming and with a tad of humor, this is a design typical for Eileen Gray. A simple asymmetrical fabric shade dims the light and makes Roattino an especially pleasant reading lamp.
Max. 75 W / 230 V S-shaped tubular steel, black lacquered. Apivot enables various positions of the lamp-shade. Frame steel, black lacquered.

Eileen Gray’s achievement in design and architecture is considered pioneering work of Modernism. During her lifetime, she was honoured by the London Royal Society for Arts with the title Royal Designer for Industry, and she is one of few women mentioned in the same breath as Le Corbusier, Mies van der Rohe and Marcel Breuer.
